If you are a serving member in the military and received notification about permanent station change (PCS) orders, the military will ship your car for free.
However, the military on behalf of the US government will only bear the shipping expenses of personal operating vehicles (POV) as per the rules formulated by the Department of Defense. This means an active military personnel is only eligible for military POV shipping for free and the government will bear its expenses. Other vehicles don’t come under this category and the military member with PCS orders will bear expenses for shipping of other vehicles.
